Meditation is the art of doing nothing; it is de-concentration; it is letting go and letting your mind speak its own language.
Even with study, the mind must be relaxed. The more pressure you put on the mind, the more difficult it becomes to study. The same is true for beauty and appreciation. It happens without effort. Your likes and dislikes are not due to some effort. You can’t force yourself to love someone or not to love someone. Effort is counter-productive to love.
In the same way, you cannot meditate with effort. Deep meditation requires no effort at all. It is the art of letting go, yet are still alert. Meditation will vastly improve all aspects of your life and it can be learned easily. All that is needed is to a little guidance and instruction to allow the mind to go within. And for that, you will be in the hands of our beloved Judi Miles.
A few words about Judi:
Judi Miles is the National Coordinator of Art of Living for Greece. She, like so many others in the Art of Living, did her first course on the recommendation of a colleague. Since then she has done numerous courses and finally, after much deliberation, became a teacher.
‘The knowledge we impart is so perfect and sufficient unto itself. All we have to do is show up and follow the instructions. What happens after that constantly amazes me and teaching the various Art of Living courses is undoubtedly the most satisfying thing I have ever done’. The only thing she regrets is not discovering this 35 years sooner. ‘Although Sri Sri Ravi Shankar the founder of the Art of Living always says that when you’re ready for the knowledge you find it’ she says. ‘So I guess everything works out as it should’.
Although Judi is not Greek she’s lived here for the last 35 years. A student of the classics she specialized in Greek history and mythology.; she’s written guide books and takes students to classical sites although now she mainly focuses on teaching breathing and meditation techniques.
